Happy New Year, everyone! Is anyone else having whiplash from the speed at which 2013 disappeared??
And my apologies for being a bit of an AWOL blogger of late. As we all know, the end of the year is always the most hectic, but I hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with family and friends and safe travel!
I’d like to show you what I’ve been up to over the last month or so, but whoops – I haven’t taken many pictures! (See the AWOL blogger bit above.) I can tell you, however, that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed knitting on a few “palate cleansing” projects lately. One project was a hat with a pocket for my sister (a bit of reverse engineering magic, if I do say so myself), while another project was a spur-of-the-moment chunky cowl with glittery yarn that also magically ended up in the hands of my sister. Luckily for both of us, it’s very flattering on her. :) I also knit up another Lakeview Hat for my sweet little niece, and on Xmas Day, I cast on for a very simple triangular scarf/shawl for myself with some domestically produced sportweight cashmere yarn. Note to self: start taking more pictures. Seriously.
In the weeks ahead, I’ll have another project on the needles, but that one will have to stay secret for a while longer. No matter – I’m in the home stretch on a pair of fingerless mitts that I’m eager to show you. There are buttons! :)
As with the beginning of all years, we tend to set resolutions or goals for ourselves. I’ll be mindful of that as another year of designing and blogging begins, and I hope to continue to challenge myself with new ideas and new milestones. I wish for each of you the same inspiration!
Let’s do this, 2014!
PS: Say it with me, folks. Three days until Downton Abbey.
PPS: Wait – I do have pictures! Behold the parade of processed sugar that I consumed since Thanksgiving (and this is just the tip of the iceberg)….
